"mother tongue"

After reading the article “ mother tongue”, there are several things that comes to my mind. First, it’s the profound impact envirnment may act in children’s growing up. Just as the author mentioned, no matter how hard she tried, she can never make Enlish as her strong suit in childhood, which may due to the poor lauguage background of her family. This can give reason to the situation that children with Highly educated parents are more likely to do good when they grow up.
At the end of the article, the author explained what good written English should be, by telling her own experience of becoming successful writer. Actually, instead of using complex word and grammar, writing should be as vivid as our daily talk thus can be easy understood by readers. For writing is a tool to convey ideas and to communicate, there should be far more behind words. Instead of confining his or her thought in the the lauguage-sturcture, a good writer can writing whatever style just base on his or her passion and creative imaginary.

Ralationship beween language and perceiving the world

Language is a tool that we commuicate with outside world. When we form an idea, it is the words and sentences that come to our mind. One the other hand, we aquire knowledge only by learning a certain language convey that information. The whole thought and belief of human world are built on the fundamental of language, our culthure, the concept of economic, ect. This is also belived by Mikhail Bakhtin, who says”Without the word, there is on world”. That is also to say, the language system in which we educated and think, shapes the way we perceive the surrounding world, And relatively, people in different language system learn things in different ways.
Despite of a few talented individral who owns a visual-base of thinking mood, most of citizens think in a verbal way, thus altering us the importance of laugugae education-which is essential for our children to better understanding the world.

To WRA 1004 Class

Hello, everybody. I'm so glad to take this class with you all this semester. My name is Bofei Wang and my major is accounting. I am a transfer student and this is my second semester here. I will take 16 credit's course this semester, so life will be pretty busy. However, busy is better than bored..^_^
I like sports, swimming and ping pang are my favorate. I am now living in Akers hall, but will soon moving to case hall for it is close to IM west, it is convient to do excercise..
